Frequently Asked Questions

How much Down Payment is Needed??

Depending on what loan you apply or qualify for, you could qualify for a $0 down payment. Our team will help you navigate different loan options, including:

  • USDA Loans - A government-backed loan by the US Department of Agriculture similar to FHA loans, mostly used for rural areas or, areas that qualify for lower than the average income. The $0 Down program starts at 620 credit scores and up.
  • VA Loans – Government-backed loans for veterans that don’t require a down payment are more lenient with regards to credit scores.
  • FHA Loans – A government-backed loan for most first-time home buyers, with only a 3.5% required down-payment, which is very affordable to most people with a little saving, and the interest rates are appealing too.
Is Buying a Home Cheaper than Renting??

The answer to this commonly asked question is completely relative based on what you can afford, and where you live. However, there are significantly more benefits to owning a home, including building equity and customizing your living space for long-term savings.

Buying a home in a more rural or country area is a different story compared to renting inside the city. Renting is more expensive the further you go from the city, and depending on your mortgage and taxes, owning a home in a city like Huntsville, Conroe, or Montgomery could mean a monthly payment lower than average renting rates.

How Much Home Can I Afford??

There are a few factors that go into your monthly payments, including:

  • Interest Rate
  • Tax Rate
  • HOA/POA Fees *if applicable
  • Insurance
  • Maintenance

These all play key parts on what you can budget in for your home in addition to the cost to purchase the home itself. Having a good lender and doing your research is important, and the ASGi Team can help you transparently estimate your monthly payments based on costs reported in the surrounding area.
